I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. --John Burrough

I started this blog to celebrate having free time again after finishing library school. I have lots of interests and hope to meet some Internet friends who have lots of interests--they don't have to be the same ones.

I work in a public library where I get to do amazingly fun things like lead a book discussion group, work on reference desk, and check out as many library books as I want with no overdue fines ever. I am a mom of two only-children: my husband and I have a daughter who's 23 and a son who's 7.

So far the topics I'm attracted to for writing about have been 70s culture, various oddments found while librarying, and whatever sewing I've worked on at home. I like read nearly anything that's well-written, no matter the subject. My favorite reading right now is the complete New Yorker on DVD, which I got for Christmas two years ago and contains inexhaustible delights.
